Getting Started

New to Count Control? Here’s how to get up and running:

  1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Choose your setup: Use Count Control as a standalone app, or connect it to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  3. Sign in to your Microsoft Dynamics 365 and find us on AppSource, or create a Count Control account for the standalone app.
  4. Add your inventory items — manually or by importing a spreadsheet in bulk.
  5. Set up your locations or storage areas if your operation runs across multiple sites or vehicles.
  6. Set reorder thresholds so you get automatic alerts before you run low.
  7. You’re ready. Count Control works offline automatically — just count, and it syncs when you’re back online.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Count Control work without internet? Yes — this was a core design priority. Count Control automatically switches to offline mode in the field. All your counts and updates sync when your connection is restored.

What’s the difference between the standalone app and the Microsoft Dynamics 365 version? The standalone app works independently and is great for growing smaller operations that don’t use Dynamics 365. The Dynamics 365 (Sales) version connects directly to your existing Microsoft environment, keeping inventory in sync with your broader business data. Both versions are available on iOS, Android, and Windows.

Does Count Control also work with QuickBooks Online? Seamless integration with QuickBooks Online will be available in the Summer 2026. You can still use the standalone app and synchronize your inventory when integration is ready.

What industries is Count Control designed for? Count Control was originally built for a restaurant in Oahu and has since been adapted for food trucks & kitchens, janitorial & commercial cleaning, HVAC, pest control, and fire safety equipment businesses. If your crew tracks materials regularly, it’s likely a great fit.

How does automatic reordering work? You set a minimum stock threshold for each item. When inventory drops to or below that level, Count Control generates a reorder alert or suggestion. You can also set up custom email alerts for your team or vendors.

Can I track multiple locations or vehicles? Yes. Count Control supports multiple locations or storage areas within a single account — useful for businesses with multiple trucks, job sites, or storage rooms.

Can I import my existing inventory list? Yes. You can bulk-upload inventory via spreadsheet import, so you don’t have to enter everything by hand.

Who handles support for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 version? If you use Count Control through Microsoft Dynamics 365, you are entitled to Microsoft’s standard support in addition to our team. For issues specific to Count Control’s features or setup, reach out to us directly.

How do I report a bug? Use our Request Support form or email hello@countcontrol.ai. Please include your device type (iOS/Android/Windows), app version, and a brief description of what happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
